Who is responsible for your information

CEO Cat Bed is operated by Sonder Brands LLC, the business responsible for the personal information described in this policy, including as a controller where that concept applies. This policy covers information handled through our Shopify store, orders and customer communications.

This policy provides notice of our practices. Visiting the store does not, by itself, constitute consent to processing that legally requires your consent.

Information, purposes and recipients

Depending on your interaction with us and the features used, we process the following information:

Payment providers process full payment credentials under their own applicable notices. Do not send full card numbers or sensitive identity documents to our general support email.

We also use relevant information to meet legal and accounting obligations, investigate fraud, protect rights and respond to lawful requests. We may disclose necessary information to professional advisers, regulators, courts or law enforcement where lawfully required or justified, and to participants in a business sale or reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information at your direction or with your consent.

Shopify and other providers

Shopify hosts the store and processes information to provide checkout and other commerce services. Shopify may also process information for its own purposes under its notices, depending on the services used. If enhanced Shopify services such as Network Intelligence are enabled, Shopify may use interactions with our store and other merchants to provide those services, including personalization and advertising-related features where applicable.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Essential cookies and similar technologies support functions such as checkout, cart contents, preferences and security. Where enabled, non-essential analytics and advertising technologies help us measure visits and advertising performance or personalize advertising. They can transmit device identifiers and browsing or shopping activity to providers.

Where consent is required, non-essential technologies are used only after the required consent. You may manage choices through the store's cookie or privacy controls, where provided, and browser settings. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from placing an order. Blocking essential cookies may affect checkout.

Some advertising disclosures may legally constitute a “sale,” “sharing” or “targeted advertising,” even without a monetary payment for data. Where applicable, you may opt out using the store's privacy-choice controls or by contacting us. We honor legally required opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, where applicable. A browser-level choice may apply only to that browser or device unless it can lawfully be associated with your account.

Legal bases where required

Where European, UK or similar law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract for orders and requested services; legal obligations for required records and legal compliance; legitimate interests for proportionate security, fraud prevention, service improvement and relevant business administration; and consent where required for optional tracking or marketing. We balance legitimate interests against your rights. You may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Retention and security

We retain each category only as long as reasonably necessary for its stated purposes, including applicable legal recordkeeping, resolving claims and preventing fraud. Transaction records may need to be kept longer than routine support messages. Account data is retained while needed for the account and applicable obligations; marketing and suppression records are retained as needed to administer or respect your preferences. Retention considers the information's sensitivity, legal requirements and whether deletion or de-identification is possible.

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no online system is completely secure. Contact us if you believe an account or communication has been compromised.

International processing

We are a US business. Shopify, fulfillment partners and other providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different privacy laws. Where required, transfers use recognized safeguards such as applicable standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may request access to or a copy of your information, correction, deletion, portability, restriction of processing, or an objection to certain processing. You may also have rights to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling, withdraw consent, limit qualifying sensitive-data uses, and appeal a denied request. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions; for example, some transaction records must be retained.

We will verify identity where needed, use only proportionate verification, and respond within the applicable legal deadline. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted, with appropriate evidence of authorization. We will not discriminate against you for exercising protected rights.

If we deny a request, you may ask for review by replying with “Privacy appeal.” You may also complain to your local privacy regulator, including the relevant European or UK supervisory authority where applicable, without first contacting us.

Unsubscribe from promotional email through the link in a message or by contacting us. We may still send order, support, security and other non-promotional communications.

Children and public content

Our shopping Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or knowingly sell or share information of children under 16 for advertising. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Reviews and photos you submit for public display may be viewed by others. Avoid including personal details you do not want published. Private support correspondence is handled as support information.
